The lesson is about presidential powers and foreign policy. The aim of the lesson is for A level students to gauge how much power a president has in shaping their administration’s foreign policy. Students are giving note taking and information sharing tasks, before they are asked to assess how much power a president has when is comes to shaping foreign policy. The notetaking tasks can be set as prework before the lesson, so that students can focus on the case studies given in the lesson. Or the lesson can be taught over two lessons, with the second lesson focussing on the case studies and planning of an essay. The lesson comprises of slides, information sheets and worksheets for students to use with each task.

Summary of the UK Constitution - Explanation of the development and nature of the Constitution. The first part of the lesson explains the development and nature of the constitution. Students are then set tasks to research the further development of the Constitution from 1997 and 2020. The last part of the lesson can be extended to a separate lesson on devolution and the impact the devolved bodies have on the UK Parliament.
